I might survive without my Tupperware. We went to the store and bought some containers today for the kitchen. It definitely helps me feel like at least my kitchen is somewhat in order!! After today's shopping trip, we stopped on the side of the road on the way home. There was a guy that made furniture and we found a few pieces that we liked. Chris asked the guy how much money they were and he kind of smiled and told him a price. Chris then said, "o.k. so, that's the gringo price, what's my price?" The guy laughed pretty good.
For dinner tonight we were invited to the Cheney's house. They are the American family that is here from the church to work on the temple. They have their youngest daughter with them that is 14. They have been traveling around Central America for the past 11 years working on temples. We had dinner and watched "Bewitched". The kids had fun playing with their dog and I had fun learning from Sis. Cheney's experience. She taught me the way to clean fruits/vegetables. Since everything here is irrigated with "used" water, we have to properly clean everything. Step 1: Buy your food. Step 2: Scrub everything to get off dirt. Step 3: Soak in a tub of water with special soap that you buy at the store. Step 4: Rinse with boiled/purified water. Step 5: Dry Step 6: store until ready to use. Yup, another adaptation to make!!
